Support Groups and Resources
UT Southwestern Medical Center has a caring staff of medical professionals who are committed to enhancing patients’ quality of life as well as meeting the needs of patients’ families. We can direct patients to a variety of informative and enriching support groups and other resources, which can be tailored to meet their specific needs.
At UT Southwestern, excellence in patient care includes helping point the way to resources patients may not be familiar with, but which have proved invaluable to others. We trust these services will assist patients as they move forward on the road to healing and improved health.
American Chronic Pain Association
The American Chronic Pain Association’s mission is to facilitate support and education for individuals with chronic pain and their families, so that these individuals may live more fully in spite of their pain.
American Pain Foundation
The American Pain Foundation is an online resource for people with pain, their families, friends, caregivers and the public. The site is devoted to patient information and advocacy and provides many links to additional resources.
National Pain Foundation
The National Pain Foundation is an online educational and support community for persons in pain, their families and physicians. Search for information about treatment options and additional pain information.
The Neuropathy Association
The Neuropathy Association seeks to educate the public about peripheral neuropathy, offers a newsletter and online message boards, and advocates for patients with this debilitating condition.
Pain.com
Covering all types of chronic pain, Pain.com hosts a monthly e-letter, an Ask the Doctor feature, and expert interviews to help educate the public about pain.
