Support Groups and Resources
UT Southwestern Medical Center has a caring staff of medical professionals who are committed to enhancing patients’ quality of life as well as meeting the needs of patients’ families. We can direct patients to a variety of informative and enriching support groups and other resources, which can be tailored to meet their specific needs.
At UT Southwestern, excellence in patient care includes helping point the way to resources patients may not be familiar with, but which have proved invaluable to others. We trust these services will assist patients as they move forward on the road to healing and improved health.
American Chronic Pain Association
The American Chronic Pain Association’s mission is to facilitate support and education for individuals with chronic pain and their families, so that these individuals may live more fully in spite of their pain.
American Pain Foundation
The American Pain Foundation is an online resource for people with pain, their families, friends, caregivers and the public. The site is devoted to patient information and advocacy and provides many links to additional resources.
Arthritis Foundation – North Texas Region
The North Texas chapter of the Arthritis Foundation offers information and programs for the 3.5 million Texans who live with the pain of arthritis.
Back Pain Support Group
The Back Pain Support Group is an Web community of individuals suffering from back pain. Members can correspond through the site’s message boards and online chat.
National Osteoporosis Foundation
The mission of the National Osteoporosis Foundation (NOF) is to prevent osteoporosis, to promote lifelong bone health, to help improve the lives of those affected by osteoporosis and related fractures, and to find a cure.
