Support Groups and Resources
UT Southwestern Medical Center has a caring staff of medical professionals who are committed to enhancing patients’ quality of life as well as meeting the needs of patients’ families. We can direct patients to a variety of informative and enriching support groups and other resources, which can be tailored to meet their specific needs.
At UT Southwestern, excellence in patient care includes helping point the way to resources patients may not be familiar with, but which have proved invaluable to others. We trust these services will assist patients as they move forward on the road to healing and improved health.
The Women's Resource Area
The Women's Resource Area at UT Southwestern University Hospital provides family centered, obstetrically focused educational classes and services. Classes cover a variety of topics, including prepared childbirth, prenatal care, breastfeeding, infant/child safety, and sibling touch. Staff are also available for tours of the Women and Infant's facilities. For additional information, call 214-879-3887.
The National Women's Health Information Center - Pregnancy
This site, offered by the National Women's Health Information Center (NWHIC), provides a wealth of information for women trying to conceive, preparing for childbirth, and about delivering the baby.
The Society for Maternal - Fetal Medicine
This national organization strives to promote and expand education in maternal-fetal medicine and to encourage new ideas and research for treating obstetrical problems.
North American Fetal Therapy Network (NAFTNet)
NAFTNet is a voluntary association of medical centers in the United States and Canada with active multidisciplinary clinical prenatal diagnosis and treatment programs. The association's site provides resources to families with fetuses requiring advance in utero therapeutic procedures.
