Cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL) is a type of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. CTCL first appears on the skin. In most patients, CTCL may be treated effectively by directing therapy against these skin manifestations. In cases in which the disease has advanced, dermatology specialists work as team members with oncologists and other physicians.
At UT Southwestern Medical Center, our specialists can create a customized treatment that may include phototherapy, chemotherapy or extracorporeal photopheresis (ECP). In ECP, white blood cells are circulated outside the body and exposed to ultraviolet light, then returned to the body where they induce an immune response against CTCL.
In addition to CTCL, lymphomas treated at UT Southwestern include:
- Hodgkin's disease
- Non-Hodgkin's lymphomas
