Clinical Trials :: Experienced heart attack in the recent past- 6 days back?

Ad Title: Experienced heart attack in the recent past- 6 days back?
Study Title: A Comparison of Prasugrel and Clopidogrel in Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) Subjects with Unstable Angina/Mon-ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction (UA/NSTEMI) Who are Medically Manager - The TRILOGY ACS Study
Protocol Number: 052008-052
Department(s) involved in the Study: Cardiology, Emergency Medicine, General Internal Medicine, Int Med - Cardiology, Int Med - General Medicine, Internal Medicine
Purpose of the Study: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of antiplatelet drugs- Prasugrel and Clopidogrel in UA/NSTEMI Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) patients who are medically managed.
Participant Eligibility: 1.Have had a UA/NSTEMI index event within 7 days (168 hours) prior to randomization. 2.Have had a medical management strategy decision made with reasonable certainty; that is, neither PCI nor CABG is planned for treatment of the index event. 3.Have had at least 1 of the following 3 high-risk features at the time of the UA/NSTEMI event: a) Age -60 years(or) greater. b) Prior MI evidenced by pre-existing Q waves,or demonstration of infarction on imaging studies, or prior documentation of elevated cardiac markers. c) Diabetes Mellitus - defined by concomitant treatment with an oral hypoglycemic agent and/or insulin. 4.Have at least 1 native coronary artery stenosis >50% (applies only to those subjects who undergo diagnostic coronary angiography within 7 days of the onset of the index event but do not undergo PCI or CABG after angiography is performed).
Disease/Condition Under Study: Acute Coronary Syndrome- UA (Unstable Angina)(or) NSTEMI (Non- ST segment Elevated Myocardial Infarction).
Cancer Related Study: No
