Clinical Trials :: Clinical Trial for Patients 60 Years Old or Older with AML

Ad Title: Clinical Trial for Patients 60 Years Old or Older with AML
Study Title: CLO34100405: A Phase III Randomized, Double-Blind, Controlled Study Comparing Clofarabine and Cytarabine versus Cytarabine Alone in Adult Patients Equal or Greater Than 60 Years Old with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML) Who Have Relapsed or Are Refractory After Receiving Up To Two Prior Induction Regimens
Protocol Number: 102006-028
Department(s) involved in the Study: Int Med - Hematology Oncology, Internal Medicine
Purpose of the Study: The first purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of Clofarabine in combination with Cytarabine compared with Cytarabine alone in treating adult patients 60 years or older with AML who have either relapsed or are refractory after receiving up to 2 prior induction regimens, as measured by overall survival. Additionally, the researchers would like to determine if the combination of clofarabine and cytarabine versus cytarabine alone will keep patients leukemia in remission longer and/or extend survival, and whether there are different side effects if given the combination rather than cytarabine alone.
Participant Eligibility: Potential study subjects must be greater than or equal to 60 years of age with a diagnosis of Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML) who have either failed prior treatments or who have relapsed after responding to prior treatments. Subjects who have been previously treated with clofarabine will not be eligible to participate in the study. Subject's meeting these minimum criteria may be further evaluated for participation in this study. There may also be other reasons why you cannot participate.
