| Purpose of the Study: |
To see if surgery to attach the superficial temporal artery to the middle cerebral artery along with best medical therapy can reduce the chances of ischemic stroke in people who have had a stroke due to an internal carotid artery (ICA) occlusion.

Adult Men and Women who have previously suffered an ischemic stroke and have an internal carotid artery occlusion. |
