Study Title: Inner-City Anti-IGE Therapy for Asthma--Clone Created--Clone Created

Purpose of the Study: The primary objective of this research trial is to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of the drug being tested, compared to placebo, when used in children and adolescents with allergies and asthma. As part of this study, you will receive specialist care for asthma and asthma education. This study is being conducted by the Inner City Asthma Consortium (ICAC) and funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
Participant Eligibility: Males and females ages 6 to 20 years. Who have had a physician diagnosis of asthma or asthma symptoms for at least 1 year. Who are able to perform spirometry (breathing test). Who are willing to sign the written Informed Consent or assent prior to initiation of any study procedure. Whose parent or legal guardian is willing to sign the written Informed Consent prior to initiation of any study procedure Who have some form of insurance which covers costs of medications
