Study Title: GOG-198: A Randomized Study of Tamoxifen Versus Thalidomide (NSC#66847) in Patients with Biochemical-Recurrence-Only Epithelial Ovarian Cancer, Cancer of the Fallopian Tube, & Primary Peritoneal Carcinoma after First Line Chemotherapy

Purpose of the Study: Thalidomide has been shown to stabilize tumor growth in patients with a variety of cancers other than ovarian, fallopian tube or peritoneal cancers. One purpose of this trial is to determine the side effects of thalidomide given for up to one year. The main pupose is to determine which of the drugs, thalidomide or tamoxifen may prevent the cancer from returning for the longest time.
Participant Eligibility: 1. Patients who have received only one first-line chemotherapy regimen (platinum/taxane-based). 2. Patients must have recovered from effects of recent surgery, chemotherapy, and/or radiotherapy.
