 RESEARCH OVERVIEW

Dr. Parmar has spent considerable time in translational research including the dissection of mechanisms of action of Gleevec in chronic myelogenous leukemia, where she found the role of a novel p38 MAP kinase. She also conducted ex-vivo expansion of cord blood T cells in order to improve the immune reconstitution of transplant recipients. She also reported the role of arsenic trioxide as a single agent in elderly patients with acute myelogenous leukemia. She has published several articles in reputable journals regarding her research.
