Dr. Adhikari completed his fellowship in Pediatric Endocrinology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in June of 2007. During his training, he gained significant experience in the conduct of clinical research in type 1 diabetes. He played a lead role in the involvement of Children’s Medical Center Dallas in the Diabetes TrialNet, a collaborative research effort aimed at the cure or prevention of type 1 diabetes. He is also currently serving as principal investigator for two studies aimed at further delineating the factors involved in beta cell lifespan in children with newly diagnosed diabetes.
