Dr. Drazner is involved in several areas of research within the broad arena of heart failure and cardiac transplantation. These include assessing the utility of noninvasive modalities, including the physical examination, in assessing prognosis of patients; risk factors for the development of cardiac hypertrophy and for the transition from cardiac hypertrophy to failure; deciphering genetic risk factors for hypertrophy and failure; and clinical issues involved in the care of heart transplant recipients.
