 RESEARCH OVERVIEW

My research is focused on identifying mechanisms and treatment for patients with chronic kidney diseases. A major effort of my laboratory is in the diagnosis and treatment of diabetic nephropathy, the most common cause of chronic kidney disease. The laboratory conducts studies on treatment with novel drugs and drug combinations designed to slow or stop progression of established chronic kidney disease. In addition, my laboratory is interested in identifying risk factors for progression of kidney disease which may lead to novel therapies to treat and ultimately prevent chronic kidney disease.
