Dr. Carmack earned his Ph.D. degree in Statistics from SMU in 2004. He has served as Research Assistant at UT Southwestern with Dr. Robert Haley since 2002 creating techniques to analyze SPECT brain images of Gulf War veterans. From 2002 to 2004, he was a Research Assistant in the Center for Research in Environmental, Earth and Life Science, Department of Statistical Science, at SMU. His dissertation was entitled "Recursive partitioning in spatially correlated data".
