April Liehr Townsley, M.A. received her Master of Arts degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Texas at Austin. Her research interest focuses on physiological correlates of auditory perception. During her graduate studies at the University of Texas at Austin, she investigated emerging electrophysiological evidence to support a statistical model for the categorical perception of speech sounds. Ms. Liehr Townsley currently serves as a Faculty Associate and Assistant Director for the Department of Communicative and Vestibular Disorders at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. There, she provides audiological, electrophysiological, and vestibular assessments for the adult and pediatric populations of Aston Ambulatory Care Center, Parkland Memorial Hospital, and Childrens Medical Center. She also serves as a member of the Parkland Memorial Hospital Universal Newborn Hearing Screening Team.
