Dr. Mummert has served on the faculty of the Department of Dermatology at UT Southwestern Medical Center since 1999 and on the faculty of the Immunology Program since 2003. His research interests include cutaneous immunology, cell trafficking and the role of carbohydrates in immune regulation. Dr. Mummerts group utilizes the latest techniques from a variety of disciplines, including biochemistry, cell biology and molecular biology, in order to study basic immune mechanisms as well as to develop reagents with therapeutic potential for skin disease and skin cancer. Research in Dr. Mummerts laboratory has been supported primarily by the National Institutes of Health. Dr. Mummert is a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, American Association of Immunologists, American Chemical Society and Society for Investigative Dermatology.
