Dr. Malet obtained his B.S. degree from the University of Notre Dame, Indiana (1972) and his M.D. degree from the State University of New York Health Science Center at Brooklyn, New York City (1976). After completing his residency in Internal Medicine at the Albany Medical Center, Albany, New York (1976-1979), he completed 3 years of subspecialty training in Gastroenterology at the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia. He was on the Faculty in the Division of Gastroenterology at the University of Pennsylvania for 15 years before joining the UT Southwestern Faculty in 1997. Dr. Malet is a hepatologist with special expertise in the treatment of chronic hepatitis B and C.
