Dr. Snyder has been a UT Southwestern faculty member since 1971. He received his M.D. from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. He completed his internship at Philadelphia General Hospital and continued his residency in general and thoracic surgery at The University of Cincinnati Affiliated Hospitals. Dr. Snyder’s clinical specialties are general and endocrine surgery with an emphasis on thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal diseases. Dr. Snyder’s experience in endocrine surgery dates back to the early 70’s; he currently performs several parathyroid and/or thyroid operations weekly. He and his colleagues evolved the techniques of directed (less invasive) parathyroidectomy, intraoperative sampling of PTH and laparoscopic adrenalectomy at our institutions and they have developed considerable expertise in these areas. He serves the Department of Surgery as one of our representatives on the Faculty Promotions and Tenure Committee, as well as several other major hospital and institutional committees.
