Patricia M. Jones, Ph.D., DABCC, FACB, received her Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, minor in Biochemistry, from Texas Woman’s University, Denton, TX. in 1986. She did her clinical chemistry training at UT Southwestern Medical Center and was board certified in clinical chemistry by the American Board of Clinical Chemistry in 1992. She is currently the Clinical Director of Chemistry and the Metabolic Disease Laboratory at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas, TX. Along with her regular duties at Children’s, she teaches courses in basic laboratory skills, instrumentation and biochemistry to medical technology students at UT Southwestern Allied Health Sciences School. She also serves as a clinical consultant at the Dallas county hospital (Parkland) and the university hospital system. Her professional research interests are mostly in the field of inobrn errors of metabolisn, specifically fatty acid metabolism. Dr. Jones is a member of the American Association for Clinical Chemistry (AACC), the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) and also a Fellow of the National Academy of Clinical Biochemists. She has received the Texas Section AACC Young Investigator Award and also the Distinguished Teacher Award from UT Southwestern Allied Health Sciences School.
