I am the Chief of Staff at the VA North Texas Health Care System (VANTHCS). As the Chief of Staff, I oversee more than 300 staff physicians and several hundred medical residents and fellows. I am responsible for major program development and administrative oversight of VANTHCS patient care, teaching and research activities.
I graduated magna cum laude from Rice University and received my medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School at Dallas. I did my residency in Medicine and my research and clinical fellowship in Infectious Diseases at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. I am a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (ACP), serve on the ACP Health and Public Policy Committee for Texas and am the Governor-Elect for The Northern Texas District of ACP. I am also a Fellow of the Infectious Diseases Society of America, a past president of the Texas Infectious Diseases Society and am a member of the Texas Club of Internists.
