The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas has the following faculty positions available. Applicants for clinical positions must have completed an accredited residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology and be eligible for Texas licensure. IVF Laboratory Director: Assistant Professor/Associate Professor Full Time. Fertility and Advanced Reproductive Medicine at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas is recruiting a FULL TIME Ph.D. HCLD Embryology Laboratory Director. This position requires “hands-on” involvement with all embryology, andrology and reproductive endocrinology laboratory activities. The individual should meet or exceed the most current standards published by The American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) and College of American Pathologists (CAP). The director must have a Ph.D. in biological sciences with expertise in the physiology of reproduction. Successful candidates are expected to have at least 3 years of experience as a “hands-on embryologist” in a full service clinical assisted reproduction laboratory and be proficient in andrology, reproductive endocrinology and embryology services. The director is expected to perform conventional IVF, ICSI, extended embryo culture, embryo biopsy for PGD, cryopreservation, identification of testicular sperm. Experience in oocyte and embryo vitrification is also required. The individual should have proven supervisory and leadership abilities, excellent communication, research, statistical and computer skills, profound knowledge of ART certification and laboratory accreditation standards. The candidate should have the ability to apply the new technologies and implement new services when needed.
The recently developed Fertility and Advanced Reproductive Medicine Assisted Reproduction program is located on the 6th floor of the state-of-the-art Outpatient Building at UT Southwestern campus. The faculty appointment in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is available with teaching and research expectations. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who would like to direct their own laboratory, supervising three other staff members in a new and growing facility at a renowned academic medical center in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Opportunity will be provided to develop new programs and research in reproductive sciences. The individual will be strongly supported to become one of the leaders in the field. Gynecologic Oncology - Assistant Professor/Associate Professor Full Time: All applicants must have completed an accredited residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology and be eligible for Texas medical licensure. Position available to applicant who has completed an approved fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology, and an active candidate with ABOG. Successful candidate will join a dynamic division with an approved fellowship in gynecologic oncology, membership in the Gynecologic Oncology Group, and a laboratory devoted to the molecular biology of gynecologic cancers. Responsibilities will include the full spectrum of gynecologic oncology patient-care services at UT Southwestern University Hospitals and Clinics and Parkland Health and Hospital System as well as instruction of medical students, residents and fellows. Applicants should be skilled in the latest diagnostic, treatment, and surgical modalities, and have an interest in clinical and/or laboratory investigation. Green Center Open Positions
The Cecil H. and Ida Green Center for Reproductive Biology Sciences and the Division of Basic Reproductive Biology Research in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas invite applications from outstanding candidates for three tenure-track assistant professor positions in signaling, gene regulation, and genome function, especially in the areas of chromatin and transcription, epigenetics, nuclear endpoints of cellular signaling pathways, nuclear receptors, RNA biology, genome organization and evolution, and DNA replication and repair. We are interested in a wide variety of model systems and experimental approaches, including biochemistry, molecular biology, structural biology, animal models, genomics, proteomics, bioinformatics, and computational biology. The Green Center’s research programs focus on, but are not limited to, female reproductive biology in a broad sense, including: oocyte maturation, fertilization, development, pregnancy, parturition, stem cells, endocrinology, and oncology, as well as relevant aspects of metabolism, inflammation, immunity, and neurobiology.
• Position 1: Signaling, chromatin, and gene regulation – a broad search for candidates using a wide array of experimental approaches to address fundamental questions in nuclear signaling, chromatin, transcription, epigenetics, and RNA biology.
• Position 2: Genomic, bioinformatic, computational, and evolutionary approaches to understanding gene regulation - a more focused search in areas that will connect to broader genomic initiatives on campus.
• Position 3: Molecular biology of female reproductive systems - a search for candidates using cell-based or physiological models in combination with molecular or genomic approaches to address fundamental questions concerning female reproductive biology.
The Green Center is an endowed basic science research center at UT Southwestern, which promotes and supports cutting-edge, integrative, and collaborative basic research in female reproduction and related areas of biology, as well as strong connections between basic and clinical research. This recruitment is part of a major university- and department-supported renovation and rejuvenation of the Green Center (upwards of 12 million dollars when completed and fully staffed). Successful candidates, who will be housed in a newly renovated state-of-the-art research facility and provided a generous start-up package, are expected to establish scientifically rigorous and externally funded research programs and participate in center, department, and university teaching and training programs.
